- Police Agencies: Police Officers have the ability to conduct large sweeps of offenders who have warrants for arrest or those heavily involved in drug trade (www.corrections.com) the purpose of law enforcement is to make the streets safer for the community. By removing criminals off the streets, it tends to reduce crime
- Prosecutors: They are typically viewed as the black sheep for criminals. Their main goal is to prove guilt of someone. In criminal activity, they influence the jury to seek guilty verdicts and sway the court judge views on a potential inmate
- Probation and Parole Officer: The goal of probation and parole is to keep released inmates on the right path to eliminate possibility of recidivism. By monitoring schedules and providing weekly urine tests, this keeps an ex-offender in clear view of criminal activity
- Courts: Besides the court judge having the ability to sentence men and women to prison or corrections, the courts follow the “due deference doctrine” which allows corrections professionals the discretion to operate jails and prisons (www.corrections.com). The courts lay down the foundation for recommended jail terms or recommended probation. In most views, the courts can be both positive and negative in an inmate’s life. There are many inmates incarcerated who are actually innocent, but in most criminal cases, its left up to jury’s verdict

- Psychologists: Monitors inmates with mental ailments

- Minimum & Medium Security: Inmate who pose minimum threat to the public and are mainly non-violent

- Maximum Security: Inmates who pose great threat to the public, and who are in cells 23 hours per day
